💰 Davos CEOs talk hiring

All you need to know to stay ahead in the world of talent acquisition.

Welcome! Thanks for reading the
RecruitmentMarketing.com Weekly.

👋 Hey there. Just a few years after COVID first forced us to all work remotely (do you remember your first virtual “team happy hour?!”) it sounds like the return-to-office wars are officially over.

New research shows that just 6 out of 158 U.S. CEOs said they'll prioritize bringing workers back to the office full-time in 2024. Guess it’s time to invest in that ergonomic desk chair, if you haven’t already.

Questions? Feedback? As always, we want to hear from you on how we are doing.

Something You Should Know This Week
WSJ: A Turbulent Year May Lie Ahead—CEOs at Davos Are Optimistic

This week, CEOs and business leaders are gathering at the World Economic Forum where they seem to be feeling increasingly confident about the U.S. economy, with some even committing to increasing headcount in 2024.

What’s the big buzz?
Two words: Artificial intelligence. In fact, there are over two dozen events on the Davos schedule that directly reference A.I. in their titles.

Labor is also on the agenda.
Davos leaders are talking about how AI can impact the job market. According to the International Monetary Fund, almost 40% of jobs around the world could be affected by the rise of artificial intelligence, a trend that is likely to deepen inequality. “Many [countries] don’t have the infrastructure or skilled workforces to harness the benefits of AI, raising the risk that over time the technology could worsen inequality,” wrote IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva in a blog post ahead of the annual meeting.

So … who’s hiring?
Despite all the talk of AI replacing jobs, JPMorgan President and COO Daniel Pinto said in an interview the bank is planning to add headcount this year as it sees opportunities to expand its presence in US wealth management. “All the components are for a strong year,” Pinto told Bloomberg. “When I look at our plans, we will increase our staff this year for sure.”
